Stage 1 Winner Betting Guide

Greetings, my fellow degenerates. How're you? That's good. I've gathered us here today to let you know that now is the perfect time to get your futures bets in for who will win Stage 1. There are a lot of favourable odds out there right now so jump while you can. I am going to give you 4 teams that I believe give you incredible bang for your buck. Beware, the first team may shock you.

(For betting I use Pinnacle, this is not a sponsorship. All odds are from Pinnacle at time of writing.)

How the Odds Work: If you bet $1 and the odds are 2.0 you double your money so on and so forth.

New York Excelsior (3.8)

Someone has to win stage 1 and all signs point to the ever strong NYXL doing so. They got rid of some excess weight in Janus and Wizardhyeoung which gives them more consistency at the main tank and takes a cook out of the coaching kitchen. They have also added Flow3r and Nene which give them the ability for their already strong DPS to specialize and really dominate on a team that was already dominant. The XL is looking great coming into the season and unless they are still "sAnDbAgGiNg" I don't think they will have a problem winning stage 1. The XL is the favourite so jump on it while you can. I would suggest using them to hedge some of your wilder bets.

Stage 1 schedule for reference

Week 1: BOS & WAS (2 ez claps)

Week 2: LAV & HOU (Likely 2-0)

Week 3: TOR & SEO (Likely 2-0, could be 1-1)

Week 4: SFS (Potential for 0-1, not likely)

Week 5: Bye Week

Predicting 7-0 finish

Philidelphia Fusion (8.15)

The number 2 team last season have incredible value coming into season 2. The team is basically the same as last season which gives them a lot of preexisting synergies as well as Poko and Sado consistently scrimming together throughout the offseason and Carpe, a top 4 DPS in the league, you get a team that that is very strong and if they get off to a hot start they have a good chance of taking it all.

Stage 1 Schedule

Week 1: LND & ATL (Potential revenge win against LDN, can also beat ATL)

Week 2: FLA & DAL (ez 2-0)

Week 3: WAS (ez 1-0)

Week 4: LAV (could go either way)

Week 5: PAR (Likely win)

Predicting 6-1

Seoul Dynasty (16.32)

The dynasty is one of my most underrated teams this season because they have made some pretty large moves that I feel like most people are forgetting, namely adding Fissure and cleaning up their coaching staff. Fissure finished near the top for MVP voting in season 1, and if Seoul does well I could see him winning this season. He was a top 3 main tank last season and I think the 8-month break has made people forget how large of an impact he had on the Gladiators. Here is a little breakdown of the LAG's season 1.

Stage Playoff Standing

Stage 1: 8th

Fissure Joins

Stage 2: 5th

Stage 3: 4th

Stage 4: 1st

Playoffs: No Fissure, swept by London.

He is a game breaker who is now matched up with one of the best DPS in the league, Fleta, and one of the best supports in the league, ryujehong. They have also strengthened the other pieces around them by picking up Jecse, Marve1, Michelle and Fits.

As for coaching, they gutted their coaching staff by firing 4 people and changing Hocury to be their general manager. This is a team to beat but they aren't being treated as such. Anywhere from 10-16 is ridiculous for this team and it is worth a $2-3 bet.

Stage 1 Schedule

Week 1: LAG & DAL (Likely 2-0)

Week 2: CHD (ez clap)

Week 3: BOS & NYX (1-1 Likely, there's potential for 2-0)

Week 4: WAS (ez clap ggs in chat)

Week 5: LND (Could win, another Fissure rival)

Predicting 5-2 finish

Hangzhou Spark (21.42)

This team has a ton of individual talent and from what analysts are saying this team has learned how to play together, and that's pretty scary. Monte recently tweeted that, "Hangzhou Spark hype is getting pretty real as almost every team has cited them as not only the strongest expansion team but an overall powerhouse," and it makes sense. They have two of the key players that took China to the OWWC finals in 2018, Krystal and Guxue, as well as GodsB, NoSmite, iDK and even more insane players. This team is insane and they are also at an insane price right now. 21/1 is insane for a team with this much talent who could easily surprise. If you bet $5 on them and they win stage 1 you're making over $100. How could you not take that?

Stage 1 Schedule

Week 1: SHD & LAV (Likely 2-0)

Week 2: HOU & LDN (Likely 1-1)

Week 3: SFS & LAG (Soft 2-0)

Week 4: TOR (ggs bby)

Week 5: Bye week

Predicting 6-1 finish

Here is the obligatory, please bet responsibly. I do not want any tweets from you saying that you lost your house. What I would recommend is that you start small. I put a $25 max on my deposits and only bet $2-3 at a time. Don't be stupid about it boys and girls. I've bet on New York and Hangzhou to win stage 1. I could easily see Seoul or Fusion ruining my party. The reason I bet I basically because it make watching the game much more emotional and fun even if it is only $2-3.
